“Write It In The Ring!” is a blog specializing in analyzing storylines, characters, and the overall landscape of the professional wrestling medium and genre of entertainment. Originally conceptualized by Lawrence Maldonado (Hey that’s me!), this blog turns a spotlight onto the nuance and narrative devices that comprise the story-telling aspects of professional wrestling and sports entertainment in a manner designed to appreciate an often-underappreciated aspect of the genre.
Lawrence Maldonado (Me again!) has been a professional wrestling fan for as long as he can remember, growing up during the peak of the Monday Night Wars between WCW and the (at the time) WWF. His first memories as a fan flash to the days of Sting lurking in the rafters of WCW and the changing landscape of the WWF as it ushered in the Attitude Era. Growing up and seeing wrestling companies rise, fall, and, in rare cases, rise again has only strengthened his appreciation for the medium and, in particular, the art of story-telling in professional wrestling as story conventions and narratives continue to evolve with the passage of time.
For those interested in being more involved in the process of choosing topics, consider subscribing to the Patreon as it goes toward supporting and sustaining this journey while also giving you, the reader, a say in what topics I will look into as well as some behind-the-scenes in regards to my writing, sources, and how I approach the process. Beyond that, let this blog take you between the ropes to explore the stories within the Squared Circle as they are written in the ring.
